2020 election result would be different with Hunter Biden laptop coverage: poll

Nearly four in five Americans who followed the Hunter Biden laptop scandal believe “truthful” coverage would have changed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, according to a new poll.

A similar percentage also said they were convinced the information on the computer was real, with just 11% saying they believed it was ‘created by Russia’, according to the New Jersey-led survey. Technometrica Institute of Politics and Policy.

And an even higher number – 81% – said US Attorney General Merrick Garland should appoint a special counsel to investigate matters related to the first son’s infamous laptop, the existence of which was exclusively revealed by The Posted in October 2020.

The poll results, released Wednesday, are based on responses from 437 adults who said they follow the laptop story “very” or “fairly” closely when polled online earlier this month. here, according to the TIPP.

On the 2020 election, 79% overall said it was ‘very’ or ‘fairly’ likely that ‘a truthful rendition of the laptop’ would have resulted in the former president’s re-election Donald Trump instead of President Biden election.

Among Republicans, 57% strongly believed Trump would have won, compared to 48% of independents and just 44% of Democrats.

But majorities in both parties – 89% of Republicans and 61% of Democrats – said they thought the laptop “is real”, with 74% of independents.

The poll results, derived from an initial survey of 1,335 adults, have a “credibility interval” of plus or minus 4.8 percentage points, according to the TIPP.

The outfit, which has accurately predicted every presidential election since 2004, is among the handful that predicted Trump’s 2016 upset victory over Hillary Clinton.
