SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 30 – In the United Nations system led by Antonio Guterres, senior officials can get away with physical sexual abuse – witness the Inner City Press audio “Hands down the pants” exclusively released for the first time times here – and with inappropriate sex with subordinates.
Inner City Press has received many such complaints. On the morning of June 30, Inner City Press asked Guterres and his spokespersons Stéphane Dujarric and Melissa Fleming to respond, in due time, to the following:
“Dear Matthew, I work at the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia and would like to report on another cover-up of abuse by a senior UN official at the UN. Mr. Carlos Ruiz Massieu, Representative Special Secretary-General in the mission has had an affair with Ms. Daniela Vargas, a local employee, since at least 2020.
After an anonymous report in early 2022 to the Office of Internal Oversight Services, he rushed to New York to “voluntarily” report the matter. What a coincidence!
After that, Ms. Vargas got a job in the Executive Office of the Secretary General. A P-3 or P-4 would have been investigated for an affair with a subordinate, but senior officials get away with it. If you decide to report it, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t show the email address.”
Do. Dujarric did not respond in writing, nor in the midday briefing that followed he, Guterres and Fleming banned Inner City Press, while failing to respond to that pro bono letter from a law firm. Look at this site.
