KINGSTON, ALZERNE COUNTY (WBRE / WYOU-TV) – New York man faces child trafficking and prostitution charges after Kingston police say they caught the suspect during an internet prick.
Court documents indicate that Robert Strait, 53, offered to talk to Michael Robinsky, 42, who they thought was a teenager – but was an officer posing as one during the needle stick operation.
According to court documents, Strait told officers the boy was too young for him but knew his friend, Michael Robinsky, liked young men. He also told officers that he had in the past sent young guys to Michael and that Michael had sex with them.
Police say Robinsky had conversations of a sexual nature with whom he believed to be an underage boy. Robinsky was apprehended when he arrived to meet the boy and charged with unlawful contact with a minor.
Strait is confronted with the trafficking of a minor, the promotion of prostitution of a minor and illegal contact with a minor.
According to the police, Strait “recruited, seduced and solicited the one he believed to be a 15-year-old boy, knowing or recklessly ignoring that the minor would be subjected to sexual servitude”.
