FBI’s handling of Hunter Biden laptop scandal reveals US ‘has a two-tier justice system,’ says Delaware state rep

DEWEY BEACH, Delaware — Computer repair shop owner John Paul Mac Isaac — who was caught up in the Hunter Biden laptop scandal — was unable to attend the Freedom Festival banquet at Rusty’s Restaurant Rudder on Friday due to health issues. Those at the event were sorry to have missed it but admired what he had done for the country.

Ruth Briggs King, GOP state representative for the 37th district, said Isaac did the right thing by bringing to light the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop that allegedly included shady financial transactions and exploits abroad.

“I really appreciate that he realized it was illegal,” she said, referring to the alleged contents of the laptop. “I think in many ways he should be considered a true hero for America and for others, because he does what he did, keeps it and realizes something is wrong here.”

Isaac said a man he believed to be Hunter Biden dropped off three laptops in April 2019. The customer did not return to pick up the laptops within 90 days and Isaac was unable to contact him despite several attempts.

Before the scandal became public, Isaac contacted the FBI, US congressional staffers, and an attorney for former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani about the contents of the laptops from late July 2019 to October 14, 2020, according to court documents (pdf).

Two months later, the FBI asked him to turn over the laptop and hard drive, which he did, and he also provided a copy of the recovered data to Giuliani’s attorney, the documents show. A Hunter Biden lawyer contacted Isaac in mid-October 2020 to ask if he still had possession of the laptops. The next day, the New York Post published an expose on the alleged contents of the laptops.

Since then, the FBI has been accused by GOP senators of harboring animosity against former President Donald Trump and attacking his Mar-a-Lago in August, but of slowing down the Hunter Biden investigation. The people at the Freedom Festival Banquet shared the same concern.

“It shows that our whole country has a two-tier court system,” said State Rep. Richard G. Collins (R-41st District). “Now you have a side for the politically favored, and you have another side that’s in the background of everything.”

If you’re a Democrat, you can do almost anything, and that’s fine, Collins said.

However, “if you’re a Republican, especially anywhere near Trump, you run a real risk of being arrested and having the FBI show up at your door with 20 or 30 agents. It really is a dangerous time in America.

FBI leadership ‘not well regarded’

Delaware Republican Party Chair Jane Brady, former Delaware Attorney General and former Delaware Superior Court Judge, said she had been a prosecutor for 12½ years.

“I worked on wiretapping and other things with the FBI. I know how they work and what they did with that laptop is not how they usually work,” he said. she stated.

Brady said a number of friends who are FBI agents have told him of their displeasure with the FBI’s handling of the laptop scandal.

“They are embarrassed by the disparity and the difference in how the FBI conducts its investigations, the priorities that the FBI has adopted, [that] follow a political agenda, not a law enforcement goal,” she said.

“And the leadership of the FBI is not highly regarded by many people within the agency.”

“I think it’s politically very sensitive to look at the president’s son, and I give credit to our US attorney’s office who seem to be trying to work diligently on what he has,” Brady said.

“But the FBI in Washington had this laptop. And when you hear what Tony Bobulinski says he told them years ago, you wonder why nothing has happened yet.

Bobulinski, a former associate of Hunter Biden, recently told Fox News that former FBI agent Timothy Thibault never followed him in the Hunter Biden investigation. In the interview, Bobulinski again claimed that President Joe Biden was heavily involved in his son’s overseas business operations.

“One of the great scandals of our time”

Stephen Moore, former senior economic adviser to President Trump and senior economist at FreedomWorks, said a fair investigation into what happened was needed.

“The Biden administration concealed Hunter Biden’s gambling payment. And I think that goes all the way to the big guy, Joe Biden. And so it could be one of the great scandals of our time,” he said.

Moore hopes that when Republicans take control of Congress they will investigate what happened.

“When we get to the bottom of it, we can’t have a president who is in the hip pocket and on the Chinese payroll,” he said.

“I’m just saying that the laptop contains incredible incriminating evidence that really shows it’s not just Hunter Biden, it’s Joe Biden, that these two were in cahoots in partnership, taking sides. money to foreign governments and foreign companies, and it undermines his position as the leader of our country.
