Hunter Biden revelation on his relationship with Hallie Biden
In 2017, the Hunter Biden and Hallie Biden association took the country in shock when President Joe Biden’s son explained that he was dating the widow of his late brother Beau two years after his death.
In his memoir, President Joe Biden’s son recalls a critical night in 2016 when he asked Hallie to pick him up in Arizona. He had been on a bender for two weeks and driven across the country. He moved to Arizona after hitting his car and detoxified at a wellness ranch in Sedona. He was about to go home. And it was Hallie that he asked to bring him back to the East Coast – not his then wife, Kathleen Biden.
Hunter, President Biden’s second son, claimed he and Hallie were dating in November 2017. The relationship came two years after Hunter’s older brother Beau, who is President Biden’s first son, died of brain cancer at the age of 46 on May 30. 2015. The case also came after Hunter broke up with his wife, Kathleen, in 2015, five months after Beau passed away.
In an interview with CBS This Morning in April 2021 to promote their new memoir, Beautiful Things, Hunter explained how his relationship with Hallie came about and the objection the couple faced at the time. “I think people were confused by that,” Hunter said… “And I understand that. I mean, I really do. For me, this is not something difficult to explain. Because he came out of a real overwhelming grief that we both shared. And we were together and try to do the right thing. And that sorrow turned into a hope of love that could perhaps replace what we have lost.“
As to why he and Hallie broke up in 2019, Hunter simply explained that the relationship “did not work. According to People, President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden encouraged love at the time, but many of Hunter’s clients have separated ties with him due to the relationship. He also had to step down from the board of the US World Food Program due to controversy. “Well I made a lot of decisions that I probably shouldn’t have made,Hunter said on CBS this morning. “There was a lot more compassion and understanding from the people who knew me. But it was also a horrible time.
In Beautiful Things, Hunter described how he and Hallie went from being in-laws to something more. He explained that their relationship started in 2017 after leaving Grace Grove, an Arizona rehabilitation center, and traveled to the Mii Amo complex, where he asked Hallie to meet him. “Feeling purged mentally and physically, I called Hallie and asked her if she would come to Arizona to pick me up,” he wrote. “I wanted her to accompany me on the return trip. I didn’t trust myself to go home without backing down – without making a detour into the pit I fell into on the way. She flew away the next day. “
Hunter then revealed that he and Hallie bonded over their mutual misery after Beau’s death. “I was at the bottom, she was most needed, and we clung to each other with abandon. We talked at length about how much we had come to rely on each other, how our health and well-being seemed to depend on the love we had learned to share, ”he wrote. He continued, “It was a matter of need, hope, fragility and unhappiness.” Looking back on the relationship, Biden called the romance a “giant miscalculation on both sides” and “errors in judgment born out of a single tragic time.”Kathleen filed for divorce shortly after hearing the case. Soon Hunter and Hallie’s relationship was made public, and they had to constantly avoid the paparazzi. He moved in with Hallie and her children, Hunter and Natalie, to Annapolis and decided to maintain a certain sense of normalcy. “Our lives of silent desperation were suddenly fully exposed. “ Hunter wrote. “I was madly trying to hold on to a slice of my brother, and I think Hallie was trying to do the same.
“Neither of us had yet thought of the relationship as a long-term or permanent commitment until it was made public, and then neither of us was ready to let go of the other,” he said. he continued. Ultimately, their relationship fell apart despite their efforts to make it work. While they were no longer close, Hallie continued to help Hunter with his drug addiction struggles. She was the one who took him to rehab in Maryland after the Biden family arranged for an intervention in 2019.
Although their short-lived involvement was treated as a scandal, Hunter argued that he believed they were brought together for a reason. “There is no doubt about the unseen force in the midst of it all: Beautiful. It seems obvious now, but it was this unspoken and unrecognized dynamic that had started to push us both: the idea that we could keep Beau alive by being together – that by loving each other, we could somehow so love him back into existence.
“If there ever was a star coupling, it was ours. It made perfect sense, except it didn’t make any sense. It was a business founded on need, hope, fragility and ruin.“
In Beautiful Things, Hunter admitted that he and Hallie “weren’t close until Beau’s death.“He also explained that he and his brother’s widow”didn’t have much in common, didn’t even have much to sayWhen they first started dating, but they continued to see each other in hopes of keeping Beau’s memory alive. “It seems obvious now, but it was this unspoken and unrecognized dynamic that had started to push us both: the idea that we could keep Beau alive by being together – that by loving each other, we could somehow so love him back into existence.Hunter explained.
