Jamaica sex trafficker convicted of forcing teenage girl into prostitution

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced on Monday December 13 that Tyquan Henderson, who went by name “Gun Play,” had been sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to sex trafficking around the time of 16 year. -old girl in 2018.

Henderson, 24, of 156th Street in Jamaica, admitted to forcing the victim to have sex for money in May and June 2018, pleading guilty in January before the acting Queen’s Supreme Court judge Peter Vallone, who imposed a sentence of three to nine years in prison.

According to the charges, the victim met Henderson through a mutual friend when she was only 15 years old. About a month later, after the teenager turned 16, she met Henderson again and at that point he forced her to have sex and oral sex with men in exchange for ‘silver.

Henderson started scheduling these dates and told the girl to call him “Daddy.” Henderson verbally threatened the teenager with harm if she didn’t make enough money and was told she had to make at least $ 500 each night.

The young girl escaped Henderson, according to court records, when she went to a friend’s home and the friend’s mother called the police.

The case was investigated by the Anti-Human Trafficking Team of the NYPD’s Enforcement Division.

“The accused used both intimidation and manipulation to force a teenage girl into prostitution,” Katz said. “He used this victim to line his pockets with the money she made selling sex to strangers. Sex trafficking is a brutal and degrading business. My office will continue to work tirelessly to free those trapped in the sex industry.
