10 things I hate about you and Start Star Joseph Gordon-Levitt will star in the Showtime television series, Super pumped, as ousted Uber CEO Travis Kalanick. The story of the chaotic rise of the upstart taxi app and the fall of Travis will be at the center of the first season, with Variety reporting that future seasons of the anthology series will pick up on the stories of other great companies that have completely revolutionized the business world. If we’re not on Fenty’s meteoric rise, what’s the point?
Season 1, based on the novel Super Pumped: the battle for Uber through New York Times writer Mike Isaac, will explore the rise of Silicon Valley’s revolutionary taxi service, and the myriad of scandals that plagued Travis’ time as CEO from 2010 to 2017. The season will culminate with the dramatic coup against Travis that forced him to step down as CEO before quitting Uber entirely in 2019.
“Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a remarkably intelligent and charismatic actor, embodying charm with an unpredictable side. We are more than excited to see what he brings to the role of Travis Kalanick, the hyper-brilliant and controversial CEO whose ambition and reckless will threatened the very company he was determined to build, ”Amy Israel, Showtime’s executive vice president for scripted programming, said in A declaration before the show is released.
Apart from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the rest of Super pumpedThe casting of has been kept secret. Behind the camera will be Brian Koppelman and David Levien, both of whom wrote Ocean’s Thirteen, and Quantico producer Beth Schachter, all serving as showrunners, executive producers and writers for the series.
As of yet, no release date has been set and we don’t know how many episodes the first season will be. Production is believed to start soon and we can only assume that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is currently listening to Charli XCX’s ‘Vroom Vroom’ on repeat to get into character.
