WARREN, MI – In its seventh task force in two years, a southeastern Michigan police department arrested 39 suspects for 67 crimes related to drugs and overdoses, prostitution, dismemberment of a corpse, theft, theft and more, with help from community tips. .

The operation included 18 search warrants and resulted in the arrest of 27 men and 12 women aged 16 to 64. In addition to the 67 counts, the suspects were charged with 22 misdemeanors and were matched with 41 outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Two men have been arrested and charged after an investigation was sparked by a community complaint about a man selling cocaine outside a residence.
Undercover officers arranged a hand-to-hand cocaine purchase with the suspect and then executed a search warrant at the Eight Mile and Van Dyke area residence in Warren. Two suspects were arrested. Officers seized several ounces of cocaine, firearms, $ 70,000 in cash, jewelry, coin collections and a ticket counter.
A suspect was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, a 20-year felony; and maintaining a drug house, a 2 year felony. The second suspect is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine; possession of a Schedule 2 narcotic, a four-year felony; and maintain a pharmacy.
32-year-old man detained for armed robbery; retail organized crime, a five-year crime; and receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle, a five-year felony. His bond was set at $ 100,000.
Officers launched an investigation, including surveillance, in April into the serial armed robbery suspect. The man was arrested after committing criminal theft from a stolen vehicle while under surveillance. Officers then executed a search warrant at his Detroit residence and obtained evidence linking him to several crimes in Macomb County.
After receiving several complaints of “heavy vehicle traffic” at a Nine Mile and Hoover area residence in Warren, officers launched an investigation which led to the arrest of two occupants. A search of the house resulted in the seizure of crack, narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
The women are both accused of operating a brothel among several other counts of felony and misdemeanor.
Community advice regarding drug sales at Warren Manor Apartments on Eight Mile and Dequindre roads led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of 50 grams of fentanyl.
The case concerned undercover officers who organized and carried out three hand-to-hand deliveries of fentanyl. They then obtained and executed a search warrant, leading to the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of evidence.
The suspect is charged with three counts of delivering fentanyl, a 20-year felony; and possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, a 20-year felony. His bond was set at $ 100,000.
“I could go on… it’s just amazing work,” Dwyer said of the operation. “The whole department was involved in this operation.”
