Last year, police in ALMERIA province rescued 30 women who were forced into prostitution.

These figures were revealed during the presentation of the first edition of an Almeria city conference on sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Organized by the Spanish Open University UNED and the Policia Nacional, the conference, to be held on June 22 and 23, includes officers from the Policia Nacional, public prosecutors, the Andalusian ombudsman and labor inspectors.

Participants will analyze the incidence of sexual exploitation of women in Andalusia and the legal tools available to prosecute crimes arising from prostitution and human trafficking.
