ISLAMABAD: The remarks of the Federal Minister of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur a day earlier on the leaders of the PPP and PML-N caused a sensation in the Senate on Wednesday morning.
Senator Raza Rabbani chanted slogans like “this government of bad language, the government of hooliganism will not work” in the House, but then apologized after the Senate Speaker asked him to stop.
Rabbani said the policy of calling oneself bad would lead to disaster.
In an election campaign rally on Tuesday, Gandapur attacked the leaders of the PPP and PML-N.
In his speech to Azad Kashmir, the minister declared former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto a traitor and Nawaz Sharif dacoit. He alleged that Bhutto divided the country just for the sake of prime minister.
He then turned his guns on PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz and stated that she claims to be a Kashmiri, but is in fact Jatts’ daughter. He alleged that the PPP and PML-N have broken all corruption records.

PPP Senator Sherry Rehman was also furious at Gandapur’s remarks.
” How did he [Ali Gandapur] dare to say that Bhutto is a traitor, ”Rehman asked, saying there is a limit to the use of abusive language.
“Who are these people who give certificates of treason,” Rehman asked and asked if Bhutto was a traitor because he introduced the nuclear program to the country.

Senator PML-N Azam Nazeer Tarar believed Gandapur, as government minister, should be ashamed of the language he used for Bhutto, Nawaz and Maryam.
During the speech by House Leader for the Senate Dr Shahzad Waseem, the opposition continued to protest.
If the opposition continues like this, it will be difficult for me to control my membership, noted Dr Waseem.
He said senior leaders of opposition parties used inappropriate language during election rallies in Kashmir. If opposition MPs did not change their ways, it would be difficult to arrest government senators, he said.
Dr Waseem also called on opposition leaders to apologize for their inappropriate statements.

“You want to call him a traitor. If such a political dialogue is to take place, no one will be safe here,” said the PPP senator.
